Doyeon Kim is the founder and executive director of Simple Steps, an organization to empower talented immigrant women to achieve their professional goals. Before Simple Steps, she worked in several nonprofit organizations, including the UN Global Compact Foundation. Doyeon is also a co-founder of JUMP, an international nonprofit to provide fair educational opportunities for youth. As an IT consultant-turned-social entrepreneur, she is passionate about tackling hard-to-solve societal problems, especially in education, gender equality, and employment. Doyeon received her B.S. and M.S. from KAIST and her MPA from Harvard Kennedy School.

She received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from Korea University and a Ph.D. degree in Psychology from Stanford University.

Kat Choi is a program director of Simple Steps. She grew up in Canada and has 10+ years of experience in diverse work environments including a multi-functional art gallery, customer relations, architectural design, blog, and social startup. She has reviewed and interviewed over 100 applicants as an executive assistant for a design consulting firm. She has a B.A. in Art History and Architecture from the University of Toronto.

Jee Kang is the Talent Development Manager at Simple Steps. She has worked in the recruiting team for four years for the Houston Super Bowl, WalkMe, and Quizlet hiring for all levels of software engineering, product, user operations, and business roles. During her time at Quizlet, she reviewed over 300 resumes per day and interviewed candidates on a daily basis. Although she is currently not working, she is dedicating her time to volunteer at Simple Steps to help immigrant women like herself achieve their career goals. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Sports Management from Rice University.

Heygene Sung, CPA is a Tax Manager specialized in corporate tax at Sagent Management Corporation. Before joining Sagent, she started her first career in the United States at PwC. Immigration to the U.S. became a turning point for her career. In Korea, she worked as an Executive Assistant to the President at Texas Instruments and to CEO&VP at Ssangyong Motor Company. Heygene received a Master's degree in Professional Accountancy from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ewha Woman’s University.
Professional career: Currently working as a corporate tax manager in an accounting firm. Having a deep understanding of Tech/Bio Industries and a rich experience in recruiting process as both an interviewee and interviewer.
